Our Story
VESPERÁDOS didn’t start as a brand. It started as a joke. A good one. It all goes back to a Fourth of July weekend, a few cold beers, and a couple of of old friends who’ve shared more life than most people ever will. Cristine’s dad, Steve, has a tight group of friends from his military special ops days. They’re all retired now, but the bond never faded. A couple times a year, they still meet up, usually somewhere warm, usually near the ocean, usually in Florida. Beach chairs, laughter, stories that get better every time they’re told. One of those friends, Carlos, rode his motorcycle from Colorado to California with his wife Phyllis to spend the holiday with us. The weekend turned into exactly what you’d hope for: beer, motorcycles, jokes, and old stories flowing nonstop. At some point, Steve started calling Carlos a member of the “Vesparados” biker club, a completely made-up group of tough guys who supposedly rode Vespa scooters instead of Harleys. The joke stuck. And it kept getting funnier.
FROM A JOKE TO A CHARACTER
I’m a graphic designer, and I ride motorcycles. So naturally, my brain wouldn’t let the idea go. What if the Vesparados were real? What if they had a look? What if this joke turned into a character? That’s when the OG VESPERÁDOS was born, a tough, no-nonsense bandito riding a black scooter, looking like he doesn’t care what anyone thinks. Equal parts humor, attitude, and confidence. That first design was meant to be a one-off shirt for Carlos. Instead, it sparked everything.
MEET THE VESPERÁDO
As the designs evolved, the character took on a life of his own. He wasn’t just a graphic anymore, he was a personality. He rides, he waits, he passes through scenes while life happens around him. He’s calm, confident, and unbothered. We started dropping him into moments that felt real: Beach days and hammock naps, night rides and desert runs, tiki bars, sidewalks, stoplights, passing strangers, shared glances, quiet confidence. Somewhere along the way, it felt right to give him a name. Carlos. Not because he’s meant to be one person, but because he represents a type of person.
WHAT VESPERÁDOS STANDS FOR
VESPERÁDOS is about: Brotherhood, humor, freedom, not taking yourself too seriously, and knowing exactly who you are. It’s for people who’ve lived a little. Who value stories over status. Who don’t need permission to enjoy life their way. Low speed. High attitude.
MORE THAN APPAREL
This collection isn’t about trends. It’s not about chasing hype. It’s about moments. About friendships that last decades. About jokes that turn into memories. About riding your own ride, even if it’s not what anyone expects.
Every VESPERÁDOS piece is part of that story. And if you get it… you get it.
Welcome to the club.
